Piku, the name itself,
sparked curiosity. It wasn't just the unique moniker that piqued people's
interest, but the indomitable spirit of the little pup who defied his
disability.
Piku,
a Pariah pup, was one of seven siblings, but only four survived. Fate, or
perhaps human negligence, had dealt a cruel hand to the litter. Kannu struggled
with a damaged ear, Pucchu had lost most of his tail, and Golu's paw was
ravaged by maggots. But it was Piku who bore the heaviest burden. His front
right paw dangled uselessly, yet he navigated the bustling streets with an
uncanny sense of purpose as if it were the norm.
Piku after the first vet visit
A
local vet treated the injured pup, but the monsoon rains
threatened to undo their progress. Piku and his brothers were placed in foster care to ensure their recovery. While his brothers made good progress Piku required more intensive care.
A
kind-hearted soul, already a guardian to two rescued dogs, welcomed Golu and
Piku into her home. She tended his wounds, arranged vet visits, and
showered them with love and attention.
Piku, however, needed further intervention. A surgery to amputate his dead limb was scheduled. Despite the daunting procedure, Piku's resilience shone through. He hobbled around the clinic just hours after the operation, a testament to his will to survive.
Piku on his way to surgery
Now, a tripawed wonder, Piku yearns for a forever home. A home where he can receive the love, care, and understanding he so richly deserves.
